Hosted by Freda's
Voice, the Friday 56 invites us to share a sentence from page 56 of
our current read. Here's mine:
Stoop, Romans, stoop,
And let us bathe our hands in Caesar's blood
Up to the elbows, and besmear our swords;
Then walk we forth, even to the marketplace,
And, waving our red weapons o'er our heads,
Let's all cry "Peace, freedom, and liberty!"
(From Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare)
Whew.
Please remind me to join next week :(
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I like JC as well. Have a nice reading XD
I don't think it's too late--I just posted mine half an hour ago.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, JC is awesome! I don't know why I thought it would be dry and dull.
Enjoy this classic!
ReplyDeleteI am, very much. :)
DeleteJulius Caesar was one of the few things by Shakespeare that I enjoyed in high school. I imagine I'd enjoy more of his stuff now if I got around to it. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first reading of Julius Caesar; I haven't read many of the histories. I need to read more of them.
DeleteClassic!
ReplyDeleteGreat teaser! I don't think I ever read this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping over - I am so behind on responding! You may want to check out my giveaway of a historical fiction novel - open intl.
