The Friday 56

Hosted by Freda's Voice, the Friday 56 invites us to share a sentence from page 56 of our current read.  Here's mine:

Stoop, Romans, stoop,
And let us bathe our hands in Caesar's blood
Up to the elbows, and besmear our swords;
Then walk we forth, even to the marketplace,
And, waving our red weapons o'er our heads,
Let's all cry "Peace, freedom, and liberty!"

                                         (From Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare)

Whew.

  2. I don't think it's too late--I just posted mine half an hour ago.

    And yes, JC is awesome! I don't know why I thought it would be dry and dull.

  3. Julius Caesar was one of the few things by Shakespeare that I enjoyed in high school. I imagine I'd enjoy more of his stuff now if I got around to it. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

    1. This is my first reading of Julius Caesar; I haven't read many of the histories. I need to read more of them.
